Baker’s Defense is a fun and additive defense game in the stick man franchise. You play as a Baker and evil thieves are trying to steal your masterpiece cake. You have to defend it at all costs by beating them to a pulp. Good news for you is that every time it gets too hard, you can buy upgrades and weapons to help you fend off the hordes of incoming stick men.
Baker’s Defense is definitely an addictive addition to the stick men games genre. The rules of the game are simple – evil thieves are coming to take your cake and you must kill them to protect it. Every time you kill an enemy, it drops a dollar bill and with the money you collect you can buy defensive structures like trip wires, turrets and grenade launchers. The bad news is that weapons only last for one wave at a time and you have to be constantly on your feet and be ready to defend. You have a health bar of your own, unlike in other defense stick men games. Neither you, nor the glass that protects the cake should be destroyed or else you lose the game. Each weapon has an upgrade, making it withstand more enemies or shoot more rapidly. Even though the game may get too repetitive after some time, it is a fun way to spend some free time. Stick men however look all the same, save for different colors, but that’s not the idea of the game. The soundtrack is playful and even though there isn’t an abundance of sound effects, it still makes you feel like part of the action and is fun to play.
The story is fun and really makes you want to help the poor baker save his creation. Even though the game is practically weaker than other stick men games, Baker’s defense poses its own charm and is a good addition to the genre, especially for players who would want to try something different and have a competitive side to them. Baker’s defense is relatively easy, but still poses a challenge on later levels.
