Sift Renegade 2 continues the story from Sift Renegade. You continue in the role of Kiro, who has killed most of the people responsible for his brother’s death and is spared by the true assassin – Vinnie. Kiro then proceeds to pursue the person who has ordered the murder of his brother.
Sift Renegade 2 is a continuation to the Sift Stick men games. It continues the storyline from the first game, adding new plot twists and even more action in the life of Yakuza member Kiro. Many of the features from the first game return, while also a lot of new ones have been added. The gameplay of Sift Renegade 2 is pretty much the same. You use the keyboard to move through linear levels, slashing through an army of stick men with your mouse. However, the save system has been removed, but a difficulty setting has been added. There have also been added the additions of combo moves and a rage meter, which triples your damage and lets you pass through the levels easily. Disappointingly, the sound is worse than it the previous games. There is almost a full absence of music, except for the cut scenes and the quality of the sound effects has been dumbed down. Also there is no voice acting this time around which sets the action back a notch. But the story is still pretty involving. Graphics-wise, Sift Renegade 2 is worse than other stick men games, but the story is great, and that’s the main idea of the game. Explore the dark world of the Yakuza and become a true mobster in this action-packed game.
Even though it’s not a bad competitor among stick men games, Sift Renegade 2 does not offer the amount of fun its predecessor had. An implementation of a combo and rage system does not save it from being dull in the graphics and sound department. Still, it is worth to play if you’d like to follow up on Kiro’s story of darkness, betrayal and pursue of honor and justice.
