Vinnie Shooting Yard 2 is a first-person action game set in the Vinnie universe. The main goal of the game is to choose from a set of four characters – a shotgun, a pistol, a Shuriken and a machine gun, and then practice your shooting skills on targets coming up at you.
Vinnie Shooting Yard 2 is part of the genre of stick men games. The point of view is in first person and you control Vinnie, who has to choose between four weapons and two levels and then test his shooting skills against targets coming out at him. The end of each level shows you your accuracy rating. The gameplay in Vinnie Shooting Yard 2 is repetitive and could hardly reach the ranks of the best stick men games out there. All you do is constantly trying to hit the targets coming out and even though each weapon has a different feel to it, it does not make the game more interesting. Still it works for killing some time. You could encounter some bugs with the weapons while reloading however, when the reload animation jams. The sound however is of nice quality and the shooting of guns gives out a real bang. The music is fun and nice to listen too, even though it does not provide much of an action setting. Still this kills the boredom somewhat and we might say that the game is strong in the sound department.
The graphics are also neat and colorful. It is more a question of how good they’re drawn actually, because the game uses static decals for everything. The backgrounds are colorful and the color scheme itself is arty. Animations of shooting and targets disappearing are smooth and despite some repetitive bugs, the game is actually quite good graphics-wise. Even though it’s not the best among stick men games, Vinnie Shooting Yard 2 is a fun way to spend some time, especially for those of us, who like competitive gaming and like to better our skills. Even though it’s quite repetitive, some charm can be found in the colorful levels and realistic feel of every weapon.
