Vinnie’s Shooting Yard 4 is the fourth entry in the action skill shooting series of the same name and one of the best first-person stick men games ever made for Flash. It takes you on a mission to eliminate live targets deployed in the area one by one, testing your speed, accuracy and reflexes in a way a target practice would.
The controls are as simple as they can get. You use your mouse to aim, click to shoot and press space bar to reload, trying to time it perfectly in order not to miss out on your next shot.
Some shots in Vinnie’s Shooting Yard 4 are pretty straightforward, while others can be tricky to spot if you don’t pay all your attention to the movements on the screen. Even despite the lack of other moving objects within the game’s environment, spotting the slim characters of stick men games behind windows, partly concealed by walls and inside narrow alleys can prove to be a challenge.
Once this difficulty has been dealt with, the game immediately presents you with more obstacles to overcome. Most targets only appear for a short while and disappear without as much as a warning.
If you don’t hit them with your first shot, making a second try too early will almost certainly result in a miss due to the lasting effect of your shot on your aim, which is a rare drawback in stick men games. It varies from weapon to weapon, but the problem itself remains constant.
