Vinnie’s Shooting Yard 5 is the fifth entry in the action skill shooting series and probably the best representation of firearms in Flash-based stick men games ever.
You are given the gamers’ favorite Desert Eagle and sent to a rooftop mission of eliminating all targets, after which you’re able to proceed to further missions and unlock other weapons, such as a Shotgun, Uzi and the Barrett Sniper Rifle.
As far as the realistic portrayal of guns goes, the screen shaking animation does seem more like an earthquake than kickback, but the over the top feeling only arises because the medium for which Vinnie’s Shooting Yard 5 was made is not particularly suitable for what it is trying to depict.
Another gripe about the game is the rather simplistic and limiting gameplay considering the amount of care that went into working on and polishing every single feature of this game, starting with the menu screen and ending with the actual graphics.
If you closely follow the development of the entire series, it seems to take a route that is opposite to most other stick men games. While others have tried to create a superior gaming experience and flawless mechanics at the expense of sophisticated visuals, Vinnie’s Shooting Yard 5 takes the approach of tuning up its graphics to as much as it can manage and enclose the whole game within a tiny environment.
This has to be the most carefully designed combination of stick men games and shooting galleries seen in Flash, which gives all the more reasons to try it yourself and see what it’s really worth to you.
